How to focus on belly as meditation object?
When i focus on the belly i Cant feel any sensation from the breath (especially when sitting).
Nostrils breath sensations work for me but i want to change to belly for certain reasons.
So can anybody help me to learn how to focus better on belly sensations or whatexactly to focus there?
Thx

If you have trouble detecting tactile sensation on any body part, not just the belly, a likely cause is too much chronic tension, which leads to energetic blockages which are experienced as lack of sensitivity (to tactile sensation), or certain body parts feeling tight, or invisible. Doing stretching exercises, mobility exercises, learning how to relax deeply will gradually melt some of the tension and the tactile sensation in blind areas will gradually return and become sensitive again. Doing good meditation, you may start to notice how, why, when you're tensing up anywhere in the body that causes these chronic tension areas, knots, blind spots to develop in the first place.

Probably many modern people have some insensitivity in feeling tactile sensation near their belly area, chest, from chronic stress, tension, obsessions about sucking in their belly so they don't look fat, or don't have six pack abs, etc.

But even if one has trouble feeling tactile sensation, one can simply stay with the proprioception and general spatial perception near the desired area for focus. The purpose of most meditation methods after all, is to give the mind an intentional object to observe, to replace the mind from observing random or unwanted objects.
