1.1 - AN 1.1 (nothing occupies man’s mind like sight of a woman)

ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme. | At one time the Buddha was staying near Sāvatthī in Jeta’s Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika’s monastery. |
Tatra kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi: | There the Buddha addressed the monks: |
“bhikkhavo”ti. | “monks!” |
“Bhadante”ti te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ. | “Venerable sir,” they replied. |
Bhagavā etadavoca: | The Buddha said this: |

Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu | It’s when a monk |
uppannaṃ bhaddakaṃ samādhi-nimittaṃ anurakkhati | protects a sign of undistractible-lucidity: |
aṭṭhika-saññaṃ | the perception of a skeleton, |
puḷavaka-saññaṃ | ….a worm-infested corpse, |
vinīlaka-saññaṃ | ...a livid corpse, |
vicchiddaka-saññaṃ | ...a split open corpse, |
uddhumātaka-saññaṃ. | or the perception of a bloated corpse. |
Yoniso manasi-kāra (The mind tracing the source) of asubha nimitta (the sign of ugliness)
Is exactly what right effort in maintaining an auspicious samādhi nimitta.
So the 8 second video showing the solution, describes both AN 1.16,
and 4th aspect of right effort.
Tying together these two suttas, It also shows that AN 4.14's "maintaining the samādhi nimitta of corpses"
Is not just about trying to gross yourself out with an unpleasant image,
but involves right view (with yoniso manasi-kāra) in discerning the cause of why perceptions of subha (beauty) and a-subha (ugliness) are arising in the first place.
And understanding the cause, the solution to abandon the cause becomes obvious.
