In the EBT (early buddhist texts), and later non EBT scripture, when a distinction between mind and body is made, they do it the same way.
'citta' or 'mano' to represent 'mind',
in contrast to the anatomical body, 'kāya' or 'rūpa'.

Sutta passages in pali+english here to show some examples of that:
So how does late Abhidhamma/Theravada go about redefining the 4 jhānas?
Do you realize how insane this is?
The Buddha, in the EBT, and the Vism. and late Abhidhamma, all use the same measuring stick, the same means of distinguishing between mind and body.
So when late Abhidhamma goes about redefining the jhanas, the result is completely incomprehensible and incoherent, as you can see in that short article
Basically, to make sense of it, you have to treat the Buddha's measuring stick as wrong, and you have to accept that late Abhidhamma has a new measuring stick with new measurements and redefined meanings of important fundamental concepts and words.
This is a horrific crime against the Buddha and the Dhamma, yet there is hardly any complaint from the followers.
If you don't speak up, act out and force the authority to be accountable for their actions, then the genuine Dhamma will die out.
